Mr David Sellu is an experienced and well-established Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon and is based in Greater London. He specialises in all aspects of general surgery, including hernia surgery; and in diseases of the colon, rectum and anus, including haemorrhoids and pilonidal sinus. He also performs laparoscopic surgery.
Mr Sellu qualified from Manchester University Medical School. He trained widely in all aspects of General Surgery in major hospitals in Manchester, London, Southampton and Birmingham. He did specialist training in Gastrointestinal and Colorectal surgery in London and Birmingham. He was awarded the Master of Surgery degree from Manchester University and holds a Master of Science degree in Medical Informatics from London University. He wrote a book on Medical Computing and designed and ran the popular and acclaimed Birmingham Microcomputer Course, which trained healthcare professionals in the use of personal computers as applied to medicine.
He is Fellow of the Royal Colleges of Surgeons of England and of Edinburgh.
He was full time Senior Lecturer in Surgery at the Royal Postgraduate Medical School, now Imperial College, and Honorary Consultant Surgeon at Hammersmith Hospital in London, from 1993 to 200. While there he co-ran and supervised the degree of Master of Surgical Science degree in the University of London and examined for this degree.
He now works in Ealing Hospital in West London as a busy Consultant General Surgeon with an interest in Colorectal Surgery.
He is Clinical Associate Professor in Surgery at the American University of the Caribbean based in Florida, USA. He is fully committed to teaching and wrote the medical students�guide to history taking and the interpretation of clinical data. This book is entitled ‘An Aid to Diagnosis in Surgery� published by Butterworth-Heinemann. Many of the registrars he trained are now consultants and some hold distinguished academic chairs in Surgery.
Mr Sellu is married to Catherine, who is Modern Matron in Accident and Emergency. He has four children, one of whom is working in the Fitness industry and the other in the business and information sector. His youngest two children are undergraduates in his old university in Manchester, one in Interior Design and the other in Medicine.
